ESET, the leader in proactive protection celebrating 25 years of its technology this year, has earned an eighth “Advanced+” award for ESET NOD32 Antivirus in the Performance Test as well as an Approved Corporate Product Award for ESET Endpoint Security in the latest review by the independent testing authority AV-Comparatives.
ESET NOD32 Antivirus earned “very fast” rankings for nine out ten categories with key functionalities tested, including file copying, downloading files, launching applications, archiving/unarchiving, installing/uninstalling applications and encoding/transcoding.
AV-Comparatives provides a three-level ranking system of “Standard,” “Advanced” and “Advanced+” awards. To receive an “Advanced+” award, products are compared based on how much impact they have on a system. ESET NOD32’s score of 187.7 out of 200 possible points was higher than 18 other competitive products, including those offered by Sophos®, Kaspersky Labs®, Symantec™, McAfee® and Trend Micro™.
“ESET was just awarded an eighth consecutive Advanced+ Award in our most recent performance test,” said Andreas Clementi, chairman, AV-Comparatives. “This is a very steady growth trend and shows strong development of an award-winning software. Combined with a high detection rate in our File Detection Test and Real World Test, ESET products are always some of our top candidates as high performers.”
In October 2012, AV-Comparatives tested ESET Endpoint Security/ESET Mail Security products in their annual Business Software Review. ESET was awarded with an Approved Corporate Product Award highlighting both business software solutions for having a very clear and simple user interface that is hard to fault. In testing, the organization aimed to protect their Small Business Server network by using ESET Remote Administrator console to deploy and manage ESET Endpoint Security on the clients, and by installing the ESET Mail Security on the server.
“ESET’s Remote Administrator is a feature-rich console that provides all the functionality needed for enterprise environments. Its design allows essential monitoring and administration tasks to be easily carried out, making it equally suitable for small and medium-sized businesses,” concludes the AV-Comparatives Corporate Report.
Moreover, Endpoint Security (Windows 7 64-bit platform) as well as ESET NOD32 Antivirus Business Edition (Mac OS X platform) achieved outstanding results in the latest ICSA Labs Anti-Virus Program testing cycle, both passing Extended WildList detection rate of 100 percent. Testing was performed under the Anti-Virus Desktop/Server Detection Criteria 4.1, using the August 2012 set from the WildList Organization International.
